Wow this is the third time I've blended Hetalia with something from Disney. Why does my love for Disney seep into my other fandoms?
If you don't remember/never heard of Gargoyles it was an animated TV series from the 90s about a group of warriors called Gargoyles who were put under a spell that caused them to sleep for a thousand years before reawakening in modern day New York. It was a really great show with well thought out plots, amazing animation, and well rounded characters. The episodes are up on youtube and I highly recommend watching it.
Anyway, I was browsing a Gargoyles wiki a few days ago and got the idea to draw France & England as gargoyles. Originally, I was going to just stop there, but then I decided to draw all the main characters (the Allies & the Axis) as gargoyles. So this is now officially the first in a series.
I'm having a lot of fun drawing the other characters, but the tricky part is the color schemes. For example, I kept going back and forth on how to color garg!England. I knew I wanted to make him green, but I was afraid he'd look like a frog. At first I wasn't happy with this shade and redrew the whole thing in another color. When I finished the second one I decided I liked the old one better and just stuck with this version.
Anyway, more Gargtalia will be coming soon. Next is Russia and China.
