Gohan's Song

As may know I've become a fan of Adventure Time recently and every Adventure Time fan knows Marceline's fry song. Well the other day I was browsing YouTube and came across the full lyrics to that song by Rebecca Sugar and it turned a slightly sad song into a heartbreaking song (especially when you scroll through the comments as read response from YouTubers whose fathers have actually abandoned or neglected them in real life). Then one day the idea came to apply this song to Gohan's story, because it fit so well with his relationship with Goku.

Now before anyone gets upset at me, let me just say that I am a fan of Goku (he's my favorite character after all) but he is a terrible father. Period. Yes there is no arguing that he loves his kids and did a lot for them, but ultimately he did willingly abandon his family several times and never really made any of them his first priority. Yes there was that moment during the Cell Games when he admitted he was crap dad and a terrible husband, but that doesn't mean much when he, as a character, doesn't learn or change from that experience since after the Buu saga he goes and leaves his family again to train some random kid he just met. So yeah, Gohan (and Goten) should have a lot of justifyable resentment towards his dad.

I made the last frame Gohan and Goku hugging because I didn't want this entire comic to be a major bummer, but I kept Goku's face out of focus to further emphasize the distance in their relationship.
